Meet Darryl L. Winston

Apostle Darryl L. Winston is a nationally respected pastor, community reformer, and transformational leader whose influence spans faith, civic, and marketplace arenas. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Darryl L. Winston is a native of Atlanta, GA, he is a  graduate of the prestigious Northside High School.  He served honorably in the United States military as both a Chaplain Assistant and Chaplain in the National Guard, beginning his ministry in Europe while providing spiritual care to military personnel and their families.

While enlisted in the United States Army, he obtained certificates of higher learning that further strengthened his leadership and ministry foundation. He later attended the historic Bishop College, where he studied Religion Marketing, and subsequently continued his academic pursuits at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), majoring in Social Work.

After accepting his call to ministry in 1986, he was ordained in 1991 at the historic Union Temple Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. For some 40 years, Apostle Winston has provided strategic counsel and spiritual leadership to influencers across business, politics, education, government, and entertainment.

In 1995, he founded Greater Works Ministries as a youth outreach initiative. Under his visionary leadership, it has grown into one of the nation’s most innovative ministries, known for empowering individuals who have been marginalized spiritually, socially, economically, and politically.

He has established Mercy Seat Assembly, Global Prayer Network, Shalom Assembly, the F.R.E.D. Initiative, and the Save Our City Coalition. Through Darryl Winston’s School of Ministry, he has trained over 2,000 leaders from diverse denominations and backgrounds, equipping them to lead with integrity, excellence, and impact.

Apostle Winston is a published opinion writer, featured in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and other national outlets, and has appeared on major networks including ABC, CBS, FOX, CNN, TBN, and CBN. He is the recipient of numerous awards recognizing his national influence and commitment to community transformation.

He is married to Juakena Winston, is the proud father of four children, and resides in Marietta, Georgia.
